Kelley....simple because all you need is the determination to over come the addictions and take the steps needed.

Right now, between the ambien, booze and other meds you are playing Russian Roulette. The librium has come to a point it's no longer effective for you.

The tremors are a serious sign.....you need medical monitoring....IP. No matter how long it takes!

Heaven forbid...BUT...If you had a loved one over for dinner and they fell down with a suspected heart atack, what would you do? Dial 911...CPR....and get medical attention ASAP? The obvious answer is swift, immediate medical attention. Not 'just try to get better at home'....maybe walk it off?

You my dear are turning blue. The only reasonable 'control' option left for you is which phone to use for IP admitance. The IP is very short lived. And it will provide you a focus towards continued recovery.

The issues with family and marriage will come into focus later. Right now you need to save a life....YOURS.

14 days- 2 weeks.. Doing good.. Made it through Christmas, not even a desire. I think you just have to get so sick. Then, have those few days of feeling good to realize what being "normal" "sober" feels like. It is much better than drunk 24/7. I am not as sick.. Hopefully loose some beer pounds too.. ;)

hi Kelley -

this post may be a little late on your thread here - but i hope you'll check back and read this .........

i'm an amateur over on the opiate boards, but i'm unfortunately a pro when it comes to alcohol. i detoxed so many times from drinking (over 25 trips IP) i'm embarrassed to say ......... and yes, the librium quit working for me a while back.

IP detox is usually a 3 - 5 day stay at a treatment center or a hospital substance abuse unit. most places, they take very good care of you.

i detoxed and binged so many times, most people in my life had given up on me. i kept falling on my ass and picking myself up - that's all you gotta keep doing.

i finally started having some success at an outpatient treatment program that met 3 times a week - this was my second try at treatment. i didn't stop completely - but i finally started putting together 30 & 60 day time periods of sobriety.

some people stop at first attempt - some take a few more times.

whatever - find what works for you and don't give up.
